Groups / Permissions

The group / permission management of Kimai is currently not that great. This page describes what is planned for a later version.

Groups

Users have to be in at least one group but can be in more than just one group. Several users can be group leader or there may be no group leader at all.

Permissions

Permissions can be set for groups. For every existing permission it can be defined if the groups is allowed or forbidden to do something.

The following permissions should be present: (CRUD = Create, Retreive, Update, Delete as separate permissions)

• Show rates, Edit rates ( http://forum.kimai.org/index.php?topic=924.0 )
• CRUD Customers, Projects and Events ( http://forum.kimai.org/index.php?topic=923.0 )
• CRUD Users, Groups
• CRUD timesheet entries and expenses (possible limit editing of duration or start and end time)
• set Admin privileges
• Edit advanced settings

Maybe it is possible to set for every group which extension they can access.

Another nice thing would be, if the rights could also be defined for specific users instead of groups.
